  • Yes, affiliate marketing does work, but you have to put in the effort to advertise and marketing the products/services you are offering as an agent of various companies.

I would suggest you set up a website or blog on a specific niche that you are interested in and write daily/weekly on your subject. Support the articles/blog posts with your affiliate links which are subject related. Use Twitter to drive visitors to your site or blog See my profile at http://twitter.com/Steve_SEO_UK for example. Help others to solve problems and they will have confidence in what you have to offer. Build friendships over time, then soft sell them.

    I personally promote Amazon products.

    Hope this helps,
    Steve

  • Of course they work, except the scams. The commission is usually very small, but if you have a site that has loads of visitors and you sell a load of product/service then you will make a bit of money. Make sure you are the direct affiliate and not a third party. For example If I am an afilliate of Amazon it doesn't work if I use you as my affiliate.

  • I've been into affiliate marketing for a couple of years now, so I'd say it works. You can make a lot of money doing it, but it won't be a cake walk, like most people make it seem. If you're just starting out, I'd suggest that u sign up with clickbank.

What are the ways I can advertise an e-commerce website?

Resolved Question

What are the ways I can advertise an e-commerce website?

I would be very grateful for an answer.

Free traffic from search engines takes an investment of much SEO labor and can take months produce results, search for the term backlinks and doFollow to find sources of links, each with tiny rank boosting value. You can find high ranking sites that will link to you for a price, on webmaster forums, though not search engine approved, many high ranked sites have unlikely paid looking looking "blogroll" links to them.

Pay Per Click advertising produces immediate traffic, at a known per visitor premium cost, the more obscure your product niche is, the cheaper the ad prices will tend to be. Once costing a nickel, these days $0.25 to $1.00 is a common PPC price range.

The big boys will purchase blocks of ad impressions for thousands of dollars, sometimes as a source of branding, some customers don't come around until they accustomed to your name .

You can play like the big boys by placing banner ads on a site that closely matches your subject, buysellads.com is a brokerage that matches sites to buyers, use the search filters and cost slider to narrow the list of candidates.

The big time well funded sites know through experience the value of a new prospect ad of a customer, and budget their advertising accordingly, knowing the repeat buying patterns of the average customer they will even take as loss on the first sale, knowing i the long run it pays off. Advertising costs are just a part of business.

Resolved Question

Are there websites that pay you to fill out surveys (or anything similar) ...?

Whether its a company and you go in person to fill out surveys, or fill them out online, etc.

There's a site called YouGov. You set up an account and they'll periodically send you polls that you accumulate points for completing. You can get different prizes like movie tickets and tote bags, but if you accumulate enough points they will send you $100.

  • yes, there are a lot -HOWEVER, there is a huge catch that you will learn once you sign on.

Nothing in life is free, so when the place says free they always have some circumstances that cause it to be a huge pain. The list I know of will follow

    1. They pay you but only pennies for an hour survey
    2. They pay you but it is in gift certificates that are only redeemable with applied conditions
    3. they will pay you but only after you purchase the product they want to know about
4.they say they will pay you but keep it under conditional lock and key until you jump through flaming hoops

The only one I have seen that is actually honest was aspen research but now I am not so sure because I tend to stay away from those type of things and get reviews from people who have used it
  • There are plenty of sites that pay you to take surveys. If you are considering giving them a try then I would read up a little more information about them on the following sites

    http://paid-surveys-scam.blogspot.com
    http://theauthorityon.com/category/inter…

these two sites should answer any questions you have about taking online surveys for cash and help you to avoid scams.
  • My favorite is fusion cash. I think this one makes you the most money and you receive payment the fastest. You can get the money direct deposited within 1-5 business day, you can get it via paypal, or you can receive a check.

Getting a check from any survey site usually takes about a month so I recommend papal or direct deposit although this is the only site that offers both.

At fusion cash you can make $3 for every referral you get that signs up and completes one offer. You make $3 a month for posting in the forum. You receive a $5 sign up bonus. You usually receive from .50 - 2.00 per every free offer you complete.

Free offers are basically signing up for free sites and giving them your spam email and your address but they never send you anything.

I personally recommend making an email just for these sites.

You can do the offers you pay for but I personally do not.

I have been doing these sites for about a year now and it definitely comes in handy because I am a stay at home mom.

The second I'll recommend is Winspinwin.com. This site is the easiest to do. You spin a wheel and make anywhere from .10 to winning the jackpot.

I also recommend Inbox dollars. This site pays you for free offers, surveys, and checking the emails they send you.

  • Yes there are some very good ones.

I am involved with one which pays you for surveys, reading emails, post and surfing the web. The best thing is it's mixed with a social site too so you can meet peoplealong the way.

  • Sorry, I don't know of any. But since I'm here, does anyone know any websites that will pay me to take my trash outside every Wednesday?

  • Industry positioning may refer to the magazine demographic or who the magazine thinks their readers are.

Al Ries and Jack Trout wrote one of the first books on the subject way back in 1981. It's called "Positioning, The Battle For Your Mind, How to be seen and heard in the over crowded marketplace". He's updated it a few times. If you can't find a copy in your local library just search the keyword "Positioning" at Amazon.
