HOW DO I DESCRIBE THE SIZE AND TRENDS IN SALES?? (BTEC retailing)?
hi im doing BTEC Business
on unit 41 (understanding retailing) one of my task is to "descibe the structure and organisation of the retail sector"
we have to include the size and trends in sales (ONS reports are useful)
(basically we have to get the ONS report for sales, and desribe the size and trends on that report)
so how do i describe the size and trends in sales??
please help
my teacher is useless

So if you have the ONS report...
"Looking through the recent report, overall spending has increased in recent years, but the recession has taken a hit. We see the entire industry growing at xx% yearly..."
Basically you're just describing whether sales are increasing or decreasing, and why.

- sales are like the figures (car sales have grown 10% this qtr (or fallen etc), while over the year grown (or decreased) by XX%,. Trrends explain that, so growth in small car and MPV's has driven by environmental concerns lower taxes and reduces prices while large luxury car sector has fallen in sales while profits are up (or vice versa!)
