Resolved Question
When are you meant to pay on ebay?
I have just won an auction on ebay. Do I pay the seller now or do I wait until they send the product?
I know this may seem obvious, but I'm new to internet buying and wanted to make sure.

they won't send it until you have paid for it, you then leave feedback if the item was as described, if it wasn't and you are unhappy you can open a dispute AFTER trying to sort the problem out with the seller.

- You should pay within 5 days = if you don;t you will get a 'reminder'. If you still fail to pay you get reported as a 'non-paying winner' ... do this too often and ebay will suspend / cancel your account ..
The seller sends the goods once your payment has cleared. If the goods don't turn up, you can raise a dispute. If you paid using PayPal, then, unless the seller sent Recorded delivery and can show the goods have been signed for, your money will be refunded.
NB. With the current postal strike you need to allow extra time before complaining that stuff hasn't arrived.
Note sellers and buyers 'feedback' .. sellers hate dealing with buyers with less than 10 feedback (since some new bidders often have no idea what to do if they bid and win) .. and few buyers will bid on items from a seller with less than a few hundred positive feedback...0% 0 Votes - you pay as soon as you can after the auction finishes. The seller isn't going to send you the item before if you haven't paid them0% 0 Votes
