Scammed on ebay - what should i do?

Resolved Question

Scammed on ebay - what should i do?

I paid £30 for a jacket advertised as leather, but when it arrived it clearly wasnt. I found a site on Emporio Armani clothing scams and it seems I was conned. I emailed the seller and he agreed to refund me when I returned the jacket. Should I return it and trust that he will then refund me (why should I trust him?) or should I open a dispute with ebay? What would happen if I did?

Open a dispute, otherwise you could end up with no jacket *and* no money.

Didn't you think it was a bit too cheap to be true?

  • another thing to consider is his feedback. If he's moving a lot of merchandise and has a lot of good feedback he's probably not willing to sacrifice your negative response for $30.

  • open a dispute first then send it back but makesure any messages are sent via the dispute pages. this way if he doesnt refund u they will take it from his paypal account for you

  • Report it to ebay, you should have this option.
