    Shareholders (as a rule) choose to invest in Companies that either pay good dividends OR have high prospects of paying good future dividends ...

    In the first case, if a high dividend payer cuts their dividend (or the share holders have reason to believe the divi will be cut), their share price will collapse (the share-holders will switch their capital to a rival company that continues to pay high dividends).

    In the second case, share holders will only keep investing if the share price continues to rise whilst the profits are being put into growth .. since more investors = higher share price, such companies are totally dependent on investor confidence .. the minute confidence wavers, the share price collapses (eg. "dot.com boom / bust")

Is it a good idea to have free P & P for items on your website?

I have a website Premiere Replacement China and I am toying with abolishing P & P to the UK only - but unfortunately will still have to charge buyers abroad.
Would this then look unprofessional because I only offer it to one sector.Or do you think people don't mind paying P & P.
My P & P costs are low already and I don't charge for labour.
You experienced views on this would be very welcome.

If you sell items on competitive rates and people like your goods then they won't mind paying small fee for P & P.

  • I myself love free postage, especially if the item is the right price.

    free P&P is always a good idea, but from your point of view make sure your prices reflect it so at least you are only out of pocket a little bit. hopefully more people will buy so more profit in the long run.

Yep, makes perfect sense.

Its really, really simple too.

A niche market is something there isn;t necessarily a product to fit into. For example, a group of fishermen who would like some special instant-fish cooking box. Exploiting this niche is a simple matter of providing that magical fish cooking box.
To exploit a niche market is simply to provide a specialist product, usually one that will only sell in that little market.

That would be a very time consuming task for a small pay off. Not considering the cost of hosting and registering these sites consider how much it would be costing you even if you payed yourself just $10 an hour. You'd be spending way more time than it's worth.

I like that you're thinking outside the box though. A lot of people would suggest spending hours a day doing grunt work asking for back links from other sites and posting on forums. If you have the resources I would hire other people to do that stuff for you so you can worry about content and conversions.

Another solution would be to try a traffic service. I found one that handles relevant back links beautifully as well as social bookmarking and page ranking. They even offer free several SEO guides and videos. You can even use it to get dozens of free relevant articles to keep your page as current as possible.

I have been trying to post ads but have been told ebay will contact me by automated telephone in order to confirm my identity, when the automated call comes i am told to press a number, then get cut off, so annoying, , any ads posted do not appear, please help.
I have tried other methods of identity none of which work.

hi I'm trying to find a paper type that will give me a slightly glossy finish (not like a photograph) paper simillar to CD booklet, but i need to be able to use it in a inkjet printer. I came across inkjet satin paper, will that be any good?

and I also found online 100 lb text gloss, which from it's description sounds like the stuff I'm after but is this inkjet compatible? also I belive 100 lb text gloss is the american terminology for it, is there a british equivelant?

There's a really nice paper made by Navigator. It's their 120gsm silky touch. It comes in packs of 250 sheets. We've used it for handouts and tri-fold brochures. Neat Ideas used to sell it. Not sure if they still do. Costco sometimes have it. A search on the internet should find you a stockist.

Hi,
I'm encharge of the marketing in my restaurant, been racking my brains to come us with a plan of what to do and going over the same thing again and again! Can anyone have some input of fresh ideas please? Would be very much appreciated.

About the restaurant:
Sells alot of Chicken, Its near a cinema, tourist office ( already sorting out deals with them) but has a huge trade from tourists and students... any ideas? x

Well, plenty of things can be done... only if you start thinking without limiting and considering other facts like prices.
First develop a concept and latter go for the rest of the factors like pricing and blah, blah.

Concepts:
Take away meals... work on that idea (probably the tourists are on the move)

Take away snacks... work on that idea for the students

Friendship snacks... work on that idea for couple/ two serving and that might be take away too

Treat meals... for five or more students to encourage groups to come over for discounted meals.

As for cinema, you could consider light snacks for them as well... of course as a take away.

Plus, you can may offer Cinema Ticket Coupons to students by introducing award points or something of the sort so that they might get Cinema Tickets on specific purchased. For that you will have to come up with a business understanding with the Cinema.

But where do i start, where and how do i advertise?
How much should i ask for? (UK, pounds)
& do you think people will want me to babysit?, i have no childcare qualfications or anything,im just a kid lol.

You should make fliers or something and if you have some neighbors who have small children let them know that you are looking for a babysitting job.
Or look in the local newspaper for a thing to send in a ad. (idk if you can do that?)

you should ask for 10 pounds an hour. that seems reasonable.
or you can ask the parents how much they want to pay you per hour.
make sure the kids like you too, because if they do, then the rents are most likely gunna pay you more!

  • hi - the best way is to pop a card in a local newsagents window. You could also send emails to local playgroups. The best way to start is by recommendation. Why not ask neighbours with children if they would like someone? You could offer to come round on a Saturday afternoon so they could see you play with the children, About £4 per hour is ok.

You know I thought about the same thing for videos.
Probably advertise in the alternative papers in whatever major city you are in. Post an ad on craigslist - that is where a lot of people look for such services. I got two wedding videos off a craigslist ad.

  • There are link swapping sites you can join, but their worth is debatable.

    I've found the easiest way is join forums that interest you & are a bit relevant to your site content & have your sig as a link to your site. I've generated quite a bit of traffic that way.

    A good google ranking is always worth aiming for, make sure their bots can read your site without any errors. If you post on sites with popular forums that rank highly your sig should be picked up by the bots, helping your ranking.

    Getting your site popular is hard work & won't happen overnight, stick with it.

Target the people directly who organise office events. Many legal firms, for example, have an office manager. They're the ones who organise events. The other people are MD's secretaries. Find the names of MD's and send them a letter or e-mail if you can find their e-mail address. The correspondence will be read by their PA/secretary who will suggest it to their boss as a possible venue.

Make sure you tell them why it's such a good idea to use your venue. What do you offer that other venues don't? Why would it make a great place for their party?

It may be worth inviting some office managers and PA's/secretaries to a complimentary evening at your venue so that they can experience for themselves what you have to offer.

  • I took a look at your site. There is very little content so there little opportunity to include lots of keywords. I would say that you need about 30 pages minimum with 3 keywords per page that are both relevant and have fairly low demand and very low supply. Take a look at www.whichhomebasedbusiness.com

Hitler definitely was evil, but Hitler is not a suitable example for not having protected sex at anytime. Bush II should be viewed as a good example for not having protected sex. And Dick Cheney... They are the most modern examples of what unprepared or unprotected couples can produce. Lol.

Sex education in schools, in places of worship, or whatever suitable place that this subject can be taught is the only hope here. Unfortunately. parents and religions do not always condone this. Yet, they have no problem with teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic because they want their children to be able to do the three R's right.

On the matter of this equally essential education, we are hypocrites.

    Haven't formed a judgment quite yet, which is rare for me.

    I realize that it takes a sledgehammer to cut through the clutter and get the attention of the target audience (who must be pretty dozey if they need to hear this message).

    Since when did health charities become critics of commercials?

    The commercial in question, could not possibly harm their work by making less kids wear condoms, so, what is their beef?

    Politics makes strange bedfellows. The health charities should welcome any help they can get, and keep their nuanced aesthetic cultural judgments to themselves.

    If they are 501 (c) (3) organizations, they are not allowed to get political. This expression hopefully is not made officially, but only as personal statements of taste. Their money should be spent on the program objectives specified in their tax exempt status application, and not to create a bullhorn so they can express themselves on aesthetic, cultural, and pedagogical themes.

    Stick to health. Make more of that. Leave off the arbitrary, desultory, and capricious judgments about the actions of others. Let 1000 flowers bloom in the sunshine. Let the marketplace of ideas be a true Bazaar of free expression.

    When things are done that "break the mold" and are strong, and possibly are artful, they always attract a mass of whingers, whiners, hand wringers, and wee wee'd up nudnicks. This ad may be artful or it may be gauche beyond the pale. But the fact that it's being criticized, by the health charities has no significance. What do they know? Why do they have standing to speak? Nobody likes having an interloper on their patch, especially a creative, edgy one who might show one us as a dullard and a hack. Again, I haven't formed a judgment about the ad -- I need to see it a couple of more times, and hear what the intended target audience is saying about it. Sometimes "far out" works -- I recall a certain Superbowl Ad, I think for Microsoft, that was plenty far out and edgy, and it did have an impact.
