Freelance writers do you get any income from craigslist?

I noticed people are eager to hire freelance writers, but do they pay and if so how much on average would you say in your experience could you earn?

I used to work for a website that relied on user generated content to boost traffic from search engines. We used to hire freelancers from gumtree and would pay between £20-£40/article, depending on the writer's credentials. Occasionally, we would get articles from experts in their respective fields (eg top solicitors, doctors, therapists etc) and we had to pay a lot more.

• I own an ad agency and have hired many copywriters off craigslist. And I pay what all other ad agencies in my area do but I always negotiate, because, as you know, I am in the business of making money, not selling other peoples services.
